I got about 300 to spend. I have been looking at a 7900GT for about that price. But what if I went with two 7600GT's for the same price? Would two 7600GT's in SLI work better for me than a single 7900GT? and ideas?

SLI is more a novelty for mid-range. 7950GT should be here next week for $300.

Yes, look into the new 7950GT like someone else said, or if you shop around you might find an ATI X1900XT for around $235 or so after a $100 mail-in rebate (MIR).

Yea, I agree, I would go with a single card. If you can, hold off a week or so and see how the 7950GT performs against the X1900XT. Then go from there. Since there in the same price bracket. imo

If you have an NV chipset on your mobo get the 7950 GT. If your mobo has ATI, get the X1900XT. That way, you can get SLI/Crossfire instead of upgrading to another single card :D

Neither is a good upgrade path for the future.

Single card, who cares what chipset you use.
