First off my specs
Nothing too stressfull right? Well heres the issue. While SLI is enabled my computer randomly freezes. This is COMPLETELY random. I can play 30 video files back to back, but number 31 locks the machine up. Again I reboot instead of 30 i'll be able to play 2, then the 3rd it locks up. The machine does "unfreeze" eventually but im stuck at 640x480 4bit color when that happens.
Now if I disable sli all problems ago away. Ok so now you're thinking simple. Video Card 2 has issues and needs RMAing. Well I've tried swapping the cards. Running 1 card in the machine then the other. No go. Doesnt matter what order their in. but if SLI is enabled I get lockups.
Continue on this little journy of mine. What about bad memory? I've run latest Memtest86+ 24 hours with no problems. But just in case I tried some corsair memory, and crucial mem. Same issue.
Ok crappy power(Although my psu is far from it) I've tried my friends PP&C TURBO-COOL 850 SSI on the machine. SAME problem.
All thats left is a mobo that ive had no problems with. Or software. I've tried reinstalling windows. I've tried multiple drivers(Cept some really old ones, 71.xx and below that is)
Tho i never really used driver cleaner when installing new drivers.
What proceedure should i follow for it? Change video cards to standard mode generic drivers, reboot into safe, uninstall nvidia, run driver cleaner, reboot and install new drivers?
When SLI is enabled I do see an improvmant in games. My 3DMark2k5 score reflects it nearly hitting 7k. But this is starting to piss me off.
