SLI?? Is this worthwhile?

I have a system that is nearly 3 years old. I want to revamp it to play Battlefield Bad Company 2. Right now I have a SLI system with twinNvidia GeFrce 8800GTS 640MB video cards. Are people still doing SLI? I lke the way my computer is still relevant nerly 3 years later but would I be better off spending more on a top quality processor and going with one hot video card? Thanks!!

What resolution are you playing at? A single 5870 won't have problems at 1920x1200/1080 unless the game happens to be Crysis.

I'm doing SLI (see sig) and BC2 plays OK, but despite the fact that a single 5870 is a little bit slower than GTX260 SLI (see Tom's comparison) I'd save the headache and go with it instead.

Well you say you might want to upgrade your processor but it depends on what you have. It could be holding you back or it could be fine. You could get by just fine with those cards in SLI but it really depends on what rez yo're playing at.

List all your specs. Also what processor and video card you need also depend on what games you play or want to play and the resolution of the monitor you play them on. Bad Company 2 is a console port, so I doubt it's system requirements are going to be very high.
