I figured out how to log my temps, when I run 3dMark05, my temps are getting into the mid 80C's during the tests.

Right now idle my temps are 63-65C on the primary card and 58C on the secondary card.

Is this too hot? What can I do to get these cooler? I have a side fan blowin in on them.

Are they overclocked? If not, I wouldn't worry about it because the warranties will protect you. If you're overclocking... either back down the overclock, or see if you can fit NV Silencers on them maybe?

No I am not overclocking, I am wondering because I am experiencing some crashes in games.

I can play battlefield 2 for about 15 min then it locks up.

Just did it and temp hit 82C.

How organized is your case? My first card hits ~54-56c idle, the 2nd idles at 51c. Load temps usually don't exceed the mid 70s.

Now, I do have VF700s on both of my cards as I think the stock GT cooler is worthless.

80C is on the high side but ive seen companies like ASUS keeping treshhold temp. to 125C, u should not all that worry.

Idle temperatures are too high for me. 65C is really too hot.

Is ur room temp in the 30C??

Yeah, verify that you have adequate case ventilation... with those two video cards, I'd say you should have 2 decent 80mm intake fans and 2 decent 80mm exhaust fans. By decent, I mean a name brand like Antec or something like that... not the $1-2 fans you can find on some websites.

Heh.

My 6800gts were set at 135C throttle.... you'll never guess what they max out at...

Right now, 99C... yeah that's right. Still stable as all hell too. How long will they last in the firey pits of hell? :)

As long as you're not getting lock ups, freezes, artificating, or abysmally poor performance, your temps are fine. If you start seeing any of these problems, however, you might want to look at a better cooling solution.

Ronin, I see you have a SLI setup, so the NV5's fit ok? Do you know if the Zalman Vf700 will fit?

The crashing could be due to many other stability problems besides video card temp.

Can you give us the specs on your entire system?

Mobo
CPU
PSU
BIOS settings (especially if you're overclocking your CPU or memory)
Current nV driver version
etc

I have VF700s in my SLI rig, they fit fine (Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe)

You're absolutely right, but in an SLi setup, heat is generally the first culprit.
