SLI has issues with two monitor desktops?

We have a Dell XPS SLI machine at work and it seems you cannot have a two monitor desktop if SLI is on. So you have to turn SLI on and off manually? This sort of kills SLI as a solution for non-gaming. Is this a driver issue or did Dell tweak it?

That's just the way SLi works, it's not specific to Dell.

Bummer, you would think that you could choose to turn SLI on when in 3d mode and off when in 2d mode, lol.

Yes, you can only use SLI with one monitor. If you want both back you have to disable it. When you enable it the second monitor should go blank.
