Have an EPoX 9NPA+SLI and a 7900GT w/ a Zalman VF900Cu on it currently. I'm planning to SLI in fall or winter.
Problem is, the board doesn't allow much clearance for non-stock coolers if you SLI. The XFX stock coolers ain't bad, but they're wicked loud, and I can get -10C on my card just by installing the Zalman. But I couldn't use two Zalmans. They'd fit, but just barely. And one wouldn't have enough clearance to push much air, making it basically an XFX stock cooler.
What do you guys do with SLI setups and non-stock cooling? Preferably air, but if the consensus is liquid (which it seems to be), what's a good water cooling setup that I can use that's reasonably priced, relatively quiet, and can support two GPUs? I live in an area that's almost always cool (San Francisco), so water is kinda silly - air actually performs BETTER on a normal San Francisco day. How do I know this? Borrowed a friends' water cooler (Reserator) whilst he was on vacation last year to give it a shot. But if water is what I've gotta do, it's what I've got to do.
Thanks for any help at all. Any suggestions for cooling setups and products appreciated. Any!
If there's something out there reasonably priced and that performs well that could do 2 GPUs and a CPU, eh, why the hell not?
