I have got a high end system with 2-BFG 7800 GTX OC water cooled. I have "Show GPU load balancing" checked but the balancing lines (for lack of a better term) does not show up in the game. Does this mean this game will not utilize SLI even when set up as such in the "perfomance & quality" settings tab? Thanks for any response.

Set the GPU rendering mode to "Auto-Select" then try it again.

Not really sure on this one, cause Oblivion should have a profile so it should work. Cause some games that use AFR don't show it, but normally all games that have a profile will.

Appreciate the suggestions but the 84.25 drivers did not help and "Auto-Select" is not an option I can find. The choices are: SLI Single GPU Rendering, SLI multi-GPU rendering, and SLI antialiasing. Any other suggestions? I would really like to know if SLI is being used correctly in this game. Is the balancing line the only way you can tell if SLI is being used? By the way, I see the line in FarCry. Thanks.

Get the XG84.25's or Coolbits 2. Then the option should be available.

I think AFR games show that slider thing on the left instead. (which I never figured out how to interpret)

Well I tried all the suggestions so far to no avail. Since I don't see the balancing line in the game does this mean it's not taking advantage of SLI?

When you're under your "Performance and Quality Settings" tab on your video card's properties section does it say "Basic Settings" or "Advanced Settings". I only say this because "Auto-Select" will only show up as an option if you're under the "Advanced Settings" area. Besides, even if you select it it will only be a default multi-GPU rendering mode which is Alternate Frame Rendering or AFR2. I would set it to Split-Screen Rendering. At least that's what gives me the best performance and I've got the same SLI as you. I'm getting Oblivion tonight though and I thought I saw in another thread how Oblivion (right now) doesn't support SLI or Xfire. (A patch is coming soon I think that will add compatibility), but don't quote me on this. Like I said, I think that's what I remember reading.

K sorry, I know I've made the last 3 posts but I just installed the 84.25 drivers and open coolbits. I can't set my SLI rendering mode at all--it just says Predefined (read-only).

Help?

That's if you use the profiles. You can switch it if you just tweak under Global Settings.

That's odd. I just chose the Oblivion profile in the CP, unchecked Vsynch in the first options menu and it showed the balance lines.

Yes, that worked for me as well except I just turned Vsynch off. By the way on my system SLI gives me 10 more FPS according to Fraps. AT 80 FPS max I still get that infernal pausing. I am really disappointed in the performance of this game.

EDIT: My inside FPS is well over 200 but I still get that sudden drop to where I get the slight pausing, This drives me to distraction. Because of this I can't enjoy the game.

If there's lots of grass onscreen, my frame rate crashes to <20 fps @ 1920x1200 and not all the sliders all the way up. I was doing about the same before the 2nd card. OTOH, HL2 at the same rez with 16X AF and 6X AA hardly drops below 80 fps. Crazy fast.

Ti my knowledge, Nvidia cards cant do 6xAA.
So if you have 6xAA enabled, your actually using no AA.
Try enabling 4 instead.

I looked OK to me, but I just switched it to 4X AA and ran thru the Water Hazard level with the airboat and the lowest rate I saw with FRAPS was 57fps.

I've been looking all over for a explanation of what it's trying to convey as well. Can someone please explain?
