Hey guys, technical question.

Is sli/crossfire recommended for those playing at 1920 resolutions? Or would a great video card suffice enough??

I'm playing on an HDTV and wanted to know if getting a 4870x2 vs 2 4870s is better. Would the 2 cards render a half screen putting less work on each card?

Are the drivers mature enough for crossfire/sli? Or would a x2 card be safer if taking that route?

Depends as much on the games you play as the resolution.

In general a single GTX 260 or HD 4870 will be sufficient for 1920x1080. For Crysis even a 4870X2 may not run well enough to give a satisfactory experience at very high settings.

EDIT: Just as a note, I'm running 1920x1200 with a G92 8800GTS and it's great.

I'm running 1920x1200 with a single 8800 GT and it is fine. All depends on what your expectations are. I play COD4 and TF2 at full resolutions with auto settings and it looks/works great for me, with only occasional hiccups in COD4 (which may be video or internet lag).
