That sli info is not todays news, it was mentioned long ago and yesterday also, and some misinfo in asus review claimes the NF4 Premium dont need sli bridge but its really sli switch it dont need.

I am not saying that it is todays news, this is just another article, one with some actual testing... as well, and afirmation that 6600 & 6200's will work...

Nvidia really seems to be pulling ahead lately. It will be interesting to see if/when ATI is able to respond in kind.

This is nice - SLI really could hit mainstream if we can use 6600, etc, mainstream low cost cards in SLI to get big buck performance, especially if intense games like BF2 are supported well... not to mention that two high end cards will continue to rock in SLI :D

What I would like to see is the price of SLI boards to drop to get this to be really affordable...

I appreciate your concern humey. I really do. However, if this thread is seen by someone and they have not heard of this before, it's today's news to them. I do believe this is the first we are hearing that it was indeed tried, and was successful through software SLI.

As for the ASUS Premium board you speak of, a different subject from this thread, the board gets rid of the SLI card that users need to flip over depending on which mode they want. (SLI or single/dual). Instead, ASUS incorporated Integrated Circuits to switch this either in the bios, or live in the OS.

So are the drivers out yet? Anybody test it out?

They showed that with drivers, any SLI capable 6xxx series could do this, but would take a big performance hit on hte highend. Seems like there's a bandwidth issue that makes this more of a solution for the lower-end 6200 / 6600 cards.

I could upgrade with another 6600GT, but they're still like $250 here. And since video cards loose value so fast, two video cards should yield even worse buy/sell price ratio...
