No, motherboards tend to be either one or the other, not both. Though there may be some hack way around it that i'm not aware of.

Ati based boards only allow crossfire, nvidia based boards only allow SLI. Intel boards with 975X can run crossfire and might be able to run SLI at some time. But for now it's either crossfire or SLI, not both.

Odds are neither nvidia nor ati will allow their technology to work on the opposition's platform either.

Oficially speaking, no. Unofficially, yes. As said above the mobo will officially support one or the other as by design but some 965 & 570 ATI mobos can do SLI (8x speed only) using hacked drivers that are not supported by nVidia. There are some limitations using these hacked drivers which is why alot of people dont bother with them:

1)Not supported by nVidia (no help from them if something goes bad with drivers)
2)Only works in 8x PCIe speed (I havent heard of any in 16x yet anyway)
3)The hacked drivers are older drivers so there could be some compatibility problems with games and your system
4)No gurantee it'll work to begin with but in most cases it does if set up properly the first time
5)Doesnt work with quad SLI setups (at least so far it hasnt to my knowledge)

There are some 32X (16X each slot) boards available but I've read that an 8X slot is capable of carrying all the data a card can put out, at least at present.
