Hello,
I was wondering what I should go for; Dual 6GB NVIDIA's GTX 980Ti's or the Dual 12GB NVIDIA's Titan X's? Will be using for heavy gaming and heavy productivity (video editing & rendering, some 3d rendering, and stuff like that)
I will most likely be using the LG Electronics WQHD IPS Curved 34-Inch LED-Lit Monitor (34UC97-S) unless someone else recommends me another one with around the same price tag or less.
Thanks

You should look at the cards listed as supported by the video editing software you want to use. A lots of such software only seems to support old cards and drivers.

But also realize at best the graphics cards will only assist the CPU - Hardware Acceleration. Just make sure your CPU is top notch first. Plus lots of fast ram.

Depends if money is no option. I would personally get 980TI's, 5930k and spend the extra budget on a full custom loop. Probably up the PSU to 1200 and run 425w bios mods on the 980's and as much oc as the CPU will handle....actually its exactly what I did do...last weekend infact....worked out pretty well

As a side note, the Asus REV already comes with 1200ac WiFi so no need for the card.

As a second side note, consider an M2 ssd, so, so fast.

The 5960X has a very low default clock speed so unless the apps you use can really make benefit of those extra cores, the 5930K is the best bang for the buck.

For me money is no problem as well but I still went with the 5930K as it has a 3.5 - 3.7 GHz default clock speed and easily overclocked it to 4.4 GHz with temps idling @ 40C and maxing out @ 60C

The price seems kinda high. Is that a pre-built PC you are going with? It's only about 2 grand less than my PC.

Titan X SLI is a colossal waste of money unless you know for a FACT you are going to use the extra 6gb of VRAM. Get the 980 Ti SLI otherwise and save $700 for almost no difference in frame rates.

RAID'd Hard Drives is a total waste of time too. Just get a 1TB Samsung 850 Pro and it'll be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay faster for a similar price. HDD RAID for performance is very dead in the age of SSDs. Those Seagate SSHD are not that great, you're 1000x better off just getting a single large SSD.

Totally agree. I'd replace my RAID0 HDDs with an SSD and definitely save some cash with 980 Tis instead of Titan Xs.

Also skip that 5960x for 5930k. Too much money for slight improvements.

+1

Both the 5930K and 5960X have 40 PCIe Lanes as well so they don't limit you in terms of PCIe bandwidth

Can the Titan X's clock high enough to still be faster than an OC'd 980TI? If so, get the Titans. If you don't have budgetary concerns then get the fastest stuff. I'd get the 980TI's regardless of budget but that's just me.
If I had a BILLION dollars, I'd still get the 980TI's because wasting money just because you can is described with one word: Stupid.

Considering the Frostbyte 360 Liquid cooling system, I think his rig is being bought from OriginPC.

Considering it is an Origin PC and liquid cooled at that, his 5960X would come factory overclocked at 4.5 Ghz and his graphic cards too will have a similar hefty boost. All of this is assuming he opts for their overclocking options for both the CPU and the graphic cards.
