Last week I had this really annoying cough. Anyway, when I layed down in bed I would have this itch in the back of my throat. I found that if I didn't sleep on a pillow, I didn't have the itch and I could get a good nights sleep. So now, week or so later, I'm still sleeping sans pillow. I can't figure out if I'm somehow negatively affecting my health now or in the future by not sleeping on a pillow. I'll prolly go back to a pillow when that irritation in my throat goes away but I was just curious as to what everyone thinks.

Try cleaning it, as yakko suggested. If that doesn't work, get a non-allergenic pillow.

i'm allergic to feather pillows, and will sneeze, wheeze, and generally cause my girlfriend to run out of the bedroom screaming if i sleep on one. I must have a cotton or synthetic pillow.

Actually, I was just wondering if there are any problems with just not using a pillow. I should get a new pillow anyway since mine is getting too lumpy.
