He should have waited a week or so. He would have been a federal employee and could not have gotten fired so easily.

Story.

And this is newsworthy? Jesus the media is striving for things to report. Yeah it is a big deal he fell asleep, but he is also human, and probably working insane hours.
I'd tell them to give the guy a break, but apparently they already did.

think about the time wasted ... if one passenger wasted 2 hours of time of his life, then imagine how much US productivity is lost because of this incident .. and because of all other incidents.

Im sorry, but all the people that are on vacation or on a business trip that want to get to their destinations shouldnt have to wait hours because of one person. He gets paid for what he does, shouldnt be sleeping on the job!

Well not really, I just don't like the idea that airport screeners are becoming federal employees. Next, when a terrorist attacks with a uhual again, all the counter personnel that hand out the keys will be made into federal employees.

this isn;t that really that big of a deal.
what are the chances that terrorists who don't previously have plans(regarding getting weapons/explosives/themselves onto planes) are going to take advantage of the sleeping security guard.

They should have just let people take off. Sure, he f ucked up by sleeping on his job, but it's not his fault that everyone was late. Someone in charge said to res-screen everyone.

I have heard reports of other screeners falling asleep. You would think with all those taxes we pay on every ticket that they would have more than 1 person per station. From now on, when I am traveling through some gate and I see that a screener is asleep, I will wake their ASS up.
There is no way I want get delayed and rescreened.
I bet people will start being more vocal about these types of lapses because delays suck.
