Sleep mode under Vista HP

My laptop is less than 2 year old now and Vista HP is able to put my laptop to sleep more when I am away from laptop first time but it will not put to sleep when I am away for second time not even 3rd time....has anyone had problem with sleep mode under Vista?

Only problem I've had with vista sleep is the sound controller wakes it up and I can't seem to find a way to stop that....even in the device manager there is no option to not allow the sound controller to wake it up.

Windows 7 hasn't had that problem for me so far, perhaps you should give it a shot if you don't mind using test software.

Have you updated your drivers recently? You might want to check with the manufacturer and see if they have both newer BIOS and driver releases than what you are running. This may fix that very issue.

Another thing, how old is the installation? A really old install may be best remedied by backing up your data and doing a restore to the original image your manufacturer provides. Then download PC Decrapifier to remove the unwanted junk your OEM preinstalls in the image.

ok I will look at HP website to see if there is any update with all drivers....I know there is new driver for nVidia graphic from windows update I have tried it but the new driver caused forever load up after login. I reveted to old driver to speed up the login process.
