Good Evening AT,
I've been running my EVGA 260 216 cards in SLI for over a month now and, though I am generally happy with my decision to purchase the second card, I am rather annoyed at the problem it created. I used to leave my computer on almost 24/7, but would throw it into S3 when I went to sleep or work. I'm sure that many people subscribe to this usage pattern as it is quite convenient. Ever since installing the second GPU though the sleep mode has become all screwy.
If I tell my computer to sleep it will do so and wake back up properly; however, if I then run any game at all my computer locks up completely. If I don't run any games and then put it back into sleep mode, it won't wake up again at all. The one time it didn't follow this pattern on the 2nd sleep without a restart, it instead shut down the HD and the monitor went blank, but all the case fans and the HSF kept running. It wouldn't wake from this and I had to turn it off at the PSU.
I'd love to be able to use my computer again the way I prefer without taking off the SLI bridge and disabling SLI in the Nvidia control panel every time I want to put my computer to sleep. Has anyone had a similar problem and been able to resolve it? Or does anyone have any idea what is wrong here? I'd really appreciate the advice.
Thanks.
