Sleep Mode Issue

So recently my laptop been going into sleep mode at exactly 2 min 40 sec ( tested it three times) when i unplugged it from the AC adapter it did the same thing in the same amount of time. So I plugged it back in again and tried one more time and this time it didnt go into sleep. What could have been the issue? Just curious even though problem was solved for now.
