So, my room-mate plays WOW like 24/7 (Seriously, he is on it all night long). That's fine, the problem is that every so often in the middle of the night there is a bright flash, and I'm awake. I don't really like being woken up in the middle of the night, and I'm fairly sensitive to light when I sleep.

So, I want to buy some sort of blind fold to fix the problem. Does some place like walmart sell them? What are they called/where would I find them? (please note that I live in the middle of nowhere, so no fancy sleep shops please :))

You should tell your roommate to get a life or play somewhere else when you're sleeping. Or turn his computer so it doesn't face you, etc....

Meh, probably, However, the problem isn't just his, I'll wake up whenever the light changes rapidly. That means when I have roommates that wake up before me or go to bed after me, they almost always wake me up when they open the door to come into the room. The light in the hallway is enough to wake me up.

I've been thinking about getting something like this for a while now. (Turning the computer doesn't really help, it isn't facing me in the first place.)

Set your alarm for 4am, then turn it off and go back to bed. After a week of this your roommate will get the idea and stop playing wow so late.

Or if he sleeps in the middle of the day like my old one used to, set your alarm for noon every day, really loud too.

The thing is, he only sleeps in sporadic 15min intervals. (Maybe he's a zombie?). at 4am he is awake. (I've never seen him sleep for more then 1 hour, it is really crazy to be honest)

you could shoot him in the head... if he dies then you know he was a zombie

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't understand this. If I was the WoW freak I'd just wonder why my room mate was setting his alarm to 4am if he didn't want to get up.

I've seen those sleep masks in Walmart in the Cosmetics dept, near the stuff that would be considered "spa" stuff - loofas, bath salts, etc. If you're lucky, they'll have a blue one there. They might also have them in the travel dept, where they sell luggage and passport wallets. On Walmart.com, the only one that comes up is part of a set with sheets/comforter/sleepmask.

Drugstores will also have them - Walgreens, CVS, drugstore.com, etc.

If you get the opportunity, try it on and see if it blocks the light from the edge that goes around your nose. It's really annoying to wear a sleep mask and still get woken up by the light .

You could always just cut the sleeve off a sweatshirt and use it like a blindfold.
