Sleep by number bed

My g/f is pushing me to go look at the sleep by number beds that we always see on TV. Anyone have any experience with these? Do they suck? Do you like them? Are they worth the cost? How much do they cost?
 
I have one. Promised my wife after her back surgery 2 years ago that we'd get one. I like it, but would have preferred getting the pillow top version now. Will probably by a 2 inch tempurpedic foam top for it soon.
