My laptop died and I need some info off it.
I bought an enclosure and pulled the SATA drive from the laptop. I can see the drive in My Computer but my PC won't let me access it and says that I have to format the drive. Obviously if I format the drive, my files are gone.

Any work arounds?
 
get the free partition recovery / file recovery tools.. someone messed up the partition records.. unless it's really dead
 
MiniTool is one. Easus is another. Both free and both home editions will recover partitions. And then there is the very powerful, but also very professional testdisk.
