slave hard drive problems on winME

ok i made a fresh install of winME (some may remember my earlier post today) and i have most of my stuff wotking.. but now it will not detect my second harddrive. the bios detects it.

in the device manager, there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the primary IDE controller (fifo) and states that the device is either not present, not working or does not have the correct drivers installed (code 10).

in performance, i have 2 messages:
Compatibility mode paging reduces overall system performance. and
Drive X is using an MS-DOS compatibility mode file system.

can anyone help?

thanks.

It shouldn't be a partition problem. I think it is more likely an IDE BUS driver problem if it is WinMe. I actually had the same problem with my CUSL2 with drivers. What kind of motherboard do you have??
