Slapdash Supercars a la Max Siedentopf

We live in a world full of boring cars ... and someone is doing something about it:

http://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20161011-one-artists-secret-war-on-boring-cars

"Somewhere between a McLaren Special Ops Bespoke and a rainy-day craft project, there is a Slapdash Supercar. And somewhere between a renowned public monument artist like Maya Lin and people who draw moustaches on subway posters, there is Max Siedentopf.

Siedentopf spent a few early mornings last autumn adding enhancements to the cars of some fellow Amsterdam residents, preserving the corrugated customisations in photos. These weren’t requested add-ons, though, but a guerilla attempt to add some ad hoc individuality to a boring car culture." (the article continues)

IMHO this is pretty funny and harmless. Some would agree while others might consider him a vandal. Your thoughts?

Crono... Lets leave pic's such as this to OT and not the garage...

I'm amused. I certainly wouldn't be upset.

Although people are largely just irrational animals, we still often follow utility, and it's tough to sell a family of four a two seater with 3 inches of ground clearance, so everbody ends up with boring 4 door sedans and crossovers.

I post over on Ecomodder too, where people do this sort of thing all the time. Ostensibly it's for the purpose of trying to eek a few more MPG out of their cars, but mostly it's fun and challenging and you end up with something unique. People ask me, "why are your rear wheels covered?" and I can respond, "I got 90mpg driving here."

Some examples:

"How aerodynamic improvements to a Toyota T-100 tested out in a wind tunnel to have a lower Coefficient of Drag then a Generation III Prius."
