Slackware 10.2 problem. Fresh install.

So I boot up, and the keyboard and mouse are just fine up until gpm loads and then boom, neither work. If I disable gpm loading on boot up, then the keyboard works just fine at the console and as soon as I start X they stop. Anyone know what's going on here?

<edit> If I keep the USB cable of my mouse (logitech mx700) plugged in, it's fine in windows, if I pull it out and put the PS/2 connector in by itself, it's fine in linux. Anything I can change so that I don't have to keep changing it? </edit>
