Well, I've noticed that I've had a lot of problems with certain pieces of software and my system. Namely, I'd turn Bittorrent on (latest version of BitTornado), and when I'd come back from a class or wake up, my computer would be at the log in screen. After looking at the event viewer, I came across an error that was reported as "System Error" and for information, it gave me:

Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 8062bfb7, parameter3 f8874ba4, parameter4 00000000.

Not very helpful to me in terms of narrowing the problem down. Bittorrent will also crash sometimes, and the computer only seems to blue screen and restart if I turn bittorrent on and leave it running for a long time. Thinking it was some sort of hardware problem, I decided to try out Super Pi and Prime95.

Well, Super Pi almost finishes, but it always returns an error such as: ... well, I'd try and recreate the error so I could give you the exact message, but Super Pi seems to actually be working right now, and oddly enough, it's working when I'm also running Prime95 at the same time. Well, I can say that it never made it past "The initial value finished." in Super Pi on many different digit settings.

Prime95 reported this error when using the Blend mode:
[Sat Oct 02 14:19:24 2004]
FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.4978497624, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.

Right now I am running Prime95 in the Small FFTs mode, and it ran for half an hour without a single error.

My only guess at the moment is that there's some problem with the ram. Could the problem be the ram timings are being set to low? (Default is 2.5-4-4 and mine are 2.5-3-3 (note that I did not set these manually.) Looking at reviews on newegg, another user has a similar set-up with the same ram (although he/she has 2 sticks), same motherboard, but the 3200+ and has no problem.

Has anyone heard of a problem with the Soltek and Mushkin ram? Or do you have any advice on this problem. Thanks for anything you can give me!
