I've played some Skyrim and frankly it's just too much work (for me)...

AC is more of an action adventure whereas Skyrim is a RPG.

They're entirely different.

Have you ever played Batman Arkham Asylum? The game is similar, and combat is essentially the same, just takes place in medieval times.
