Skyrim Upgrade

I know Skyrim isn't out yet and we don't know much about performance on it yet, but I figured I'd ask:
Looking to run Skyrim @ Highest settings @ 1080p. i7 920 4GHz / 12GB / 4870 1GB, and obviously the 4870 needs to go and be replaced by something higher. I'd like a 6950 2GB but I don't really have that much to spend. Is there something sub-250$ that can give me what I need?

I was looking at this 6870 2GB

Or a 560Ti 1GB

But I'm not sure if they'll be high enough to cover it.

Any other suggestions?

Sub $250 is tough, but maybe two GTX 460s on the used market? They perform about equal to a 580.

I'd have to go with a new case and possibly get rid of my soundcard to do SLI/CF. So that isn't really preferable.

And it's Bethesda. There is a serious possibility that SLI/CF won't work with Skyrim for the first few months.

stick to the 2gb models. i'm looking at the 6950 2gb myself, great bang/$ especially once you crossfire when the prices go down even more as they go 'out of fashion'

True. Also look around the used markets, since bitcoining went down the tubes, people are unloading flashable 6950s like whoa.
