The Vampires are attacking Whiterun!

Man I wish there was some way to disable the DLC. This is a lot for a full noob to deal with I'm only level 8 for pete's sake. What if an important NPC gets killed by a vampire? Would suck
Use add on's that either disables random vampire attacks until a certain level and thus can be removed entirely that way or one that sends npc's other than guards into homes where it's safe.

Otherwise important npc's are unkillable so at worse you might loose a merchant or a npc that gives non-essential quests.

That shouldnt be starting to happen until at least level 10, when the Dawnguard quest is activated.

If your on a PC, you can make have the blacksmith gal becoming immortal, look up setessential or wait till someone releases an updated version of run for your lives vampire edition

I can't run mods on first playthrough. This is my first time playing Skyrim so I want to experience that game in its standard form before changing things.

Also, installing ANY mods disables achievements lol...

There is a mod to fix that 🙂 .. it odd as I not recall it doing that on the original release, it seems that with Fallout4 they decided to do that and hence SSE got it as it carried over then engine updates from FO4

Ah good. When vampires/dragons attack has been ported. One more checked off the list 🙂

Those were ported over a long, long time ago. Why dont you actually go over to the Skyrim Special Edition Nexus webpage, and actually check out all the mods that are already available?

Man I thought I was in the clear and then BAM I hit level 10 and Dragonborn activates. I fast travel to Whiterun to sell some gear and now I have cultists up my arse.

They shoulda put a built in (no mods needed) way to deactivate the expansions because for a total noob this is lot to deal with.

Thats Dawnguard, not Dragonborn.

Nah, the cultists are part of Dragonborn dlc.

Well vampires can probably be considered cultists as well, most of them are slaves to a more powerful vampire. But I wasnt aware that Dragonborn started at level 10, but I know that Dawnguard starts at level 10. I thought that Dragonborn didnt start by level, it started after you perform some type of action or event?

Faendal was sniffing around my house in Whiterun. I'm not saying that I killed him with a Soul Trap enabled bow, put his soul into a Black Soul Gem, and dropped said gem way out in the ocean where no one will ever find it.... but I'm not saying I didn't.

Personally I'm just waiting for SKSE64 comes out... and besides it's giving me time to catch up on some of my other backlogged games.

This sounds a bit odd: http://www.tweaktown.com/news/55065/skyrim-special-edition-v1-3-improved-144hz-support/index.html. I know about (and I'm using) the fmax-thingy, but...official?

And this guy tested it and found some interesting things: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1612742-60fps-lock-is-not-okay/

I wouldn't classify the >60fps fix as 'official', but it seems to be effective. I need to test on my rig now that I got a new card. I find it weird that beth implemented a new ini to lock it, i mean it was effectively locked before if you didn't touch the fmaxtime. Seems like an arbitrary setting.

Purdy.

I finally got to do some good testing with Skyrim last night on my 1080. Locked @60hz it never drops below 60 fps @1440p, with a heavily modded installation (30? 40? mods, lots of 4k textures, etc). Using the '>60fps unlocker' I was able to crank it up to 144hz with no physics weirdness going on. Inside caves/dungeons/whatever i'm seeing 120+fps, outdoors sits around 80-100, depending on what I'm looking at. I was able to get the fps as 'low' as 65fps hanging out around Riverwood at midday in a rainstorm. The closest thing to an issue that I've seen that may/may not be related to the >60fps thing is flickering candles/torches/braziers. Not the light sources themselves (they seem to stay static as expected) but the actual flame... on braziers I'd just chalk it up to a flickering effect, but the candle flames noticeably disappear/reappear. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, and depends on the angle i'm facing (maybe related to FPS?). I can't definitively state that this wasn't happening @60fps, so it could be related to one of my lighting mods/patches/whatevers, but it's not really game-breaking for me (I tuned it out immediately).
