Skyrim or Far Cry 3

I already own have played Skyrim for several hours back when it first came out. But for some reason i stopped playing. i don't recall exactly why. Either another game caught my attention(how is that possible, lol) or more likely I got overwhelmed and eventually bored because of it.

I know with Skyrim I always had difficulty choosing between a Conjure/bound bow type archer that sits back and snipes while his conjured minions do the tanking and a sword and board type warrior who bashes people with his shield. I love the idea of both, but don't have the time to play 2 different characters. And I don't want to do it all with one character and have him be gimped. I also never really knew what perks to take. I mean I knew which ones I liked, and which ones were great, but was never good at prioritizing this or that, knowing I can only pick one or the other. But I already own Skyrim and we all know ita great game you can get lost in for hours. And I still own it, so no money spent and I can start playing right now.

As for Far Cry 3, I have never played any of the far cry series before, but if I understand correctly, the 3rd one doesn't have much if anything to do with the first 2, so i won't be missing anything. People seem to rave about it and the videos/reviews I have seen look great. I do like using guns and stuff, but not necessarily more so then a sword 'n shield or a bow and arrow. But again i don't know much about far cry, so are there other reason I should choose it over playing skyrim?

Far Cry 3's pace is mostly up to you. And yes, it's fun. Major fun.

Yup, I'm over 20 hrs into it and really enjoying it. Wondering through the island, there are random things that can happen to you or you see. The biggest negative is the story and main quests and some of the side quests aren't great either but there's a lot of stuff to do and taking over areas is fun.

Skyrim is a lot slower paced compared to FC3 but Skyrim is definitely better in the story, voice acting, and rpg aspects. FC3 you don't have to shoot everyone, you can silently take down enemies if you want which is what they encourage.

Honestly, I love SkyRim. I'm almost willing to say that he should play Far Cry 3 first, get it out of the way, then dive into SkyRim for the long haul.

Fallout 3.

Otherwise, it's a bit of a toss-up. Skyrim is a higher quality game that had more attention to detail and yet in some ways it is deeply flawed (combat balance is terrible, and I always felt a need to deliberately avoid doing the main story so that it wouldn't be over too soon).

I've put probably 600 hours in Skyrim since release. Most of that is exploring dungeons, caverns, and walking around the world.

It's really hard question. It depends of what kind of games do like the most. If you want open world and a lot of possibilities to explore it - choose Skyrim. Far Cry 3 is FPP with great storyline.

If you choose Skyrim, please, for the love of God, get it on the PC.

You'll be doing yourself a huge disservice otherwise. For that matter, if your PC is at all competent, Far Cry 3 as well.

I preordered Skyrim for PS3, played a bit, and left it alone until xmas vacation this year. Probably have approaching 200 hrs in now. Story is pretty good (I am not a serious gamer but would say that with some very surprising gameplay twists ("Blood on the ice") I can make the claim that Skyrim is pretty much Zelda grown up.

I understand that PC is the way to go, but... I don't have a gaming rig and have no budget / desire to build a new one, even a cheap one. My 2006 vintage mbp still works great. My last two laptops from work leave me with no desire to run Windows at home again.

I have to say, I was heavily disappointed in far cry 3. I was literally bored of the whole rescue bases thing and unlock radio towers. Was super boring. In skyrim I never once tired of exploring a new dungeon for loot.
