What bug are you referring to? I just played a little bit in Whiterun with the new textures and everything ran very smooth on high settings on a pair of 6870s.
That's sad, it took the community 3 weeks to come out with a complete pack. Yet it took the developers 3 months? L.M.A.O.
Mods and the community are a install at your own risk. The developers are held to a higher standard. Which when they don't measure up to those high standards gets them all sorts of hate from people such as yourself.![]()
It's extremely subtle, you're not giving up your HD custom textures for this.
Unfortunately this Bethsoft texture pack has had a negative performance impact on my framerate, I've spent most of the last hour trying to isolate how to get my performance back but disabling my custom texture mods haven't done much so far.
are there any texture packs equivalent to QTP for oblivion yet?
I actually hold the TES community to a higher standard than BethSoft considering the stuff they do is with ZERO monetary backing/profit behind them.
The problem with mods like the 2k texture-pack is that it's not really new or redrawn textures. It's the same textures with a sharpening filter applied and the Parallax Mapping increased by a whole lot.
On the other hand, the official Texture Pack is made from Bethesda's own HQ original files they compiled the original game textures from. Most likely cut for time and space, allowing the game to be shipped on one DVD. The official texture pack also changes the textures on *everything*, as opposed to the other mods which only changed a few select things.
The thing is that when you put all those contribution together, they change the entire game.
IMO, my modded version of the game looks and performs better than the HQ texture release.
