Skyrim not working on steam ?

Need help, Massive problem with steam and skyrim.

I got the game for PC I put it in it started downloading like 5gb or data so i let that finish, then it was downloaded an update or updating or something and started downloading another 2gb then when thats done, i try to play it, I get an error and it says the game is unavalable so i go searching on the internet and it says restarting steam might help, so i did, now its just downloading the 5gb again ? wtf ? can anyone help, Why cant i just put the disc in and play the bloody game ?

Try formatting your computer and do a fresh install of Windows, see if that helps.
 
Yeah, it should be though, I'm in Australia and its 8:05 am 11/11/11 the game is out so i should be able to play it.

I wanna know why it was downloading the 5gb again as i already did it the i closed and then reopened steam and its downloading again ?
 
its released on the 11/11/11 and thats the date so i should be able to play it but i cant which is stuuupiid.


But my main problem here is that it downloaded the 5gb download and then i closed and then reopened steam and its downloading it again ? what is with that ?
