Hello, I was biding my time, waiting for Skyrim to be well patched and modded before playing it myself :sneaky: And the day has come. However I'm lost because there are just so many mods out there. Could someone help me choose?
My PC is the one in the signature, so please no mods that are too heavy on performance (it should work well at ultra settings).

I will probably be playing a pure mage. The mods I seek are those that add more land (quality land, with cities, new things that are not stupid, balanced and not out of place), mods for more quests and factions, mods that improve the magic system (I don't care if it's slightly overpowered) and mods for better general playability.

FIRST THINGS
Go to the Skyrim Nexus and register for free membership.

- Download and install the Script Extender

- Download and install the Mod Manager
 
Skyrim Nexus is what scares me, it's hard to choose from thousands of mods.
Also now I'm considering playing Morrowind with its expansions. I've played Morrowind without expansions and really liked it but never went with the main quest.
 
The enhance Sky UI is a good mod.

Along with some enhancement graphics mod, if your computer can handle it.

Other than that, just scroll through and look for fun mods. I wouldn't recommend mods that give you OP items or abilities as the game isn't hard to begin with and kinda dulls the already mediocre combat involved.

If you log in you can sort by rating which makes it MUCH easier to get started. After downloading ten thousand of them you will eventually decide you dont really need custom armors that much and move on to other things.

I really find your posts annoying. Not because of anything you say or suggest, but because EVERY post you do I swear I picture a cat with a slight english accent speaking it. And I have no idea why...
 
Also they have the mods catagorized, after you get the mod manager, start with the texture stuff, those are usually the easiest and go from there.
