^ this isn't your vision of the game--until you credit all the work that was done before you, right?

weren't you banned from linking any of this stolen work, or did I miss something?

    You missed something I guess.
I call it my vision, cause, ture enough I use other peoples textures, but I still hand picked all the texures one by one, by hand, from hundreds of mods and put them together in a coherant and fitting way. Hence the "my vision"
And the NPC mod is MINE.

PS: stolen?!!! Are you kidding me?

I don't get all the hatred for you in this thread, but I've only read small segments. I've seen many groups and modders use pieces of mods developed by others to create story based narrative videos. I don't see anything wrong with it, so long as credit is given somewhere for pieces used.

The issue is that he did not actually create any of the mod content, he just chose textures made by other people and packaged them up for distribution without giving the actual authors any credit. He actually had one of the mod content authors specifically tell him he was not allowed to redistribute his work, and it violates the terms of both Skyrim Nexus and the Steam Workshop to redistribute an author's work without their permission. There's nothing wrong with him expressing his vision or telling other people how they can achieve it, but boxing it all up and taking credit for the work of others? That's over the line.

    @Atomic Playboy
I never took credit for the torrent I put up on the bay.
The only credit I took was for the NPC mod I created.
So stop the fucking lies please.

    go read the fucking description:
    http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/7391141/Skyrim_HUge_mod_compil_20GB_

You'll noticed I say, "the mods I gathered", "the mods I collected"

Where the *** did you see me taking credits for others works?
THE ONLY CREDIT I TOOK WAS FOR MY MOD< THE ONE THAT CHANGES ALL NPC IN GAME.

PS: Now at least you have a reason for demanding a ban for puting the link here, if those kinds of links are forbidden here, I don't give a flying ***.
What I do mind though, is bullshitter like you who try to make me pass for the bad guy. And I'll reepeat it again cause you seem to not really understand since you posted many times here sayiing I took credit for the works of others:

WHERE THE *** DID YOU SEE ME TAKE CREDIT FROM THE WORK OF OTHERS?

    @Atomic Playboy
AND ONE more thing. Go read my original post here:
http://forum.wiwiland.net/index.php?/topic/53202-ma-vision-de-skyrim-en-anime/ (link that you will find on the 1st page of this topic btw...)

that's the one I translated and and posted here for you ungrateful bitches.
Under part 3 you'll see this:

"Je ne suis pas l'auteur des mods (sauf celui qui remplace tout les npc en type anime) les textures, animation etc appartiennent a leurs auteurs respectifs."

Use a fucking translator and come back to tell me I took credit for others people's work!!!

I see you redistributing other people's work without their permission. You were called out on it by Starac, one of the mod authors whose textures you were repackaging and distributing without his permission, and you're doing it with the works of a number of other texture artists as well. If you just give people links to the original hosting site and tell them which textures you're using, I don't have a problem with it. Zipping up a whole bunch of other peoples' work and putting it on piratebay? I think that's over the line, and I'm going to tell you how I feel about it. I don't recall ever saying I thought you should be banned, I just think you should respect the wishes of the mod authors and not redistribute their work without their permission.

Right because I should have to rummage around and download a bunch of different things from different places when he has already compiled it all for me.

You guys should just leave this thread if this isn't your thing, the dude is just trying to share with those who are interested. If you aren't, quit commenting on it. He hasn't done anythign wrong

Should get permission from authors before redistributing any part of any work, it's just showing respect for the work others did. I guess the problem people have is that permission was not obtained when it should have been, and credit was not given when it should have been. A repackaging and redistribution of other people's work is still other people's work, regardless of how many hundreds of hours you've put into making it all work together.

the authors of the content, SkyrimNexus, and Steam actually disagree.

and that is the point. He refuses to respect their wishes because he "doesn't give a ***."

    cute.

I know a lot of people out there grew up with the internet, but the reality is that people who create content do so for many reasons--chief among them are fun, recognition, and compensation.

The difference here is the entitlement that comes with children raised on the internet--they think the world is free to them.

I think the OP did good work with these mods, despite the art direction being infantile and completely destroys the world of Skyrim--it's still extensive and looks very nice. The porblem here is that he not only refused to give credit to the texture work when asked to do so, refused to take down his links at other sites when asked to do so, but he also feels that he has no duty whatsoever to credit the content creators.

This isn't about internet policing--it's about teaching little children how to properly engage in a creative content setting. How to work with others. This could have been "free" for the OP, but he acts like a child and simply assumes he owns everything. He doesn't.

And in the professional world (let's say research) put the OP in the exact same situation: his ass is ostracized from the field and he would have to find a new line of work. period. And yes, simply because he refuses to credit the fact that his work was built on others'

I agree with pretty much your entire post. I said what I said because I just don't think OP gives a sliver of poops about doing it the right way, that's all.

Everyone in the thread: Just give credit, you're doing it wrong.
OP: No fudges given, rage cry rage, swear words x9000, QQ.

Speaking of internet policing, I don't think we're supposed to be using profanity in the non-social areas of the forums. Just sayin'. ;)

As to the contention that you should be able to share your vision of Skyrim with people, I absolutely agree. But you should do it like this. This guy went through dozens of mods, chose his favorite textures, and then made a batch file that will extract them all and put them in your Skyrim folder for you. You just have to download each one individually. Sure, it takes a little longer, but you're respecting the authors of the original content by giving their pages hits and downloads and you're not violating any terms of service by hosting anything without permission. It's more respectful to the content creators, and I happen to think that's worth the extra effort required.

Did you guys ever bother to read what I wrote?

"Je ne suis pas l'auteur des mods (sauf celui qui remplace tout les npc en type anime) les textures, animation etc appartiennent a leurs auteurs respectifs."

This was posted here on the first page, as well as my original thread.
Did you bother to translate it? I'll do it for you then:

I AM NOT THE AUTHOR (EXCEPT FOR THE ONE THAT REPLACE THE NPC) THE TEXTURES, ANIMATIONS AND SO ON BELONG TO THEIR RESPECTIVE OWNERS.

I will give you that maybe I shouldn''t have repackaged them and posted a link, but let me tell you was I was thinking at the time.

Should I ask people to download the SRO on the nexus, download the 3+GB of it and then tell them to pick 2 textures from and delete the rest? Should I really ask them to download 3GB to have them keep 6MB and throw the rest?
    And repeat with 300+ mods?

Or should I just give them the "DATA" folder where everything was already done?

It really felt like a hassle to ask people to download all of that to have them search and pick 3 textures and repaet for 300 times. Since I had it all done, I shared it.

You can say I didn't have the right to post the link, OK.
You can call me lazy for it It, fine.

    BUT

BUT I DIDN"T TOOK CREDIT FOR OTHER PEOPLES WORK

Who are the authors? What content are you using? Simply saying it's not your work isn't enough if you re-post it. The authors that deserve credit aren't getting it unless you explicitly cite them AND forward the appropriate web traffic as AP suggested.

I'm glad you're starting to see where you went wrong, but what you were thinking at the time does not justify your actions. Furthermore, had it been only a momentary lapse in judgement, you would have redacted the infringing content immediately when asked to do so.

    You did not.

Doing something for other people's convenience may sound noble, but it never justifies theft. Buying a stolen stereo for far less than retail may be convenient for me, but that doesn't justify the seller's actions.

This is the key here: the part that you don't seem to understand.

You did take credit the moment you re-posted someone else's work without permission.

I find it funny how much flak OP gets over free, fan made mods whereas pirating actual content that costs money is given the blind eye treatment.
