Back when it came out Skype was free to use for Video Chatting, you just hooked up your webcam, linked up with the person you wanted to talk to and voila, no problems

I've been hearing that now you have to pay to call with video? Is this true or not? I just checked the Help section and it said free video calls as well.

I'm merely confused, and if someone who knows could correct me that would be great.

I've never used it and don't know much about. But my understanding is that anything PC to PC is free. The cost starts when you want to call to/from something other than a pc.

FREE for Skype-to-Skype calls, including Text, Voice, Conference Voice, and Video

the part that costs money is making or receiving calls to out of Skype
