hello all
would you all kindly help me getting skype to run properly on my setup. we are am currently inside a large network that is proxied (I defined it in the advanced connections settings, heavily firewalled and has NATing on the firewall. right now i am trying to make a video conference call to the guy sitting next to me and i don?t like the results the network info is saying that i am sending the video at only 200kbps and is only doing it at 8-11fps 320*200 (camera can do 30 fps@ 800x600) sending a file is only 1kb/sec (its saying something about my download is relayed) the ping time is 2000ms.
questions
1. what do you recommend to improve performance
2. how do you force 640x480 30fps
3. the connection between the users is clearly not P2P (the 2000ms and low performance) how do i force this to be p2p.
4. is there a way to run a "skype server" inside our network i am sure this would fix all performance issues + it would be more secure as no traffic is going outside our network.
5. what?s the difference between the normal and business version.
6. is there an enterprise solution from skype? If not can someone recommend an alternative to skype.
