Skype is now collecting your images, rather than sending them directly between people

My friend, who is running Linux Skype, can send me image files, but with the newest Windows version of Skype, trying to send him an image, doesn't send the image, but instead, it uploads it to Skype itself, and send a download link, for "photo sharing".

This means that Skype is now collecting any and all images that you attempt to "send" to people.

It's good, and partly amazing, that on Skype, we can talk and see!, someone on the other side of the world. For free, and without any time limits, or anything.

On the other hand, one has to be careful, on exactly how, this "free" service is going to make money for them. I also don't particularly like, trust or have much faith in anything connected with (Bill Gates)/Microsoft, based on past experiences with them.
Thanks for the warning, about the images.

If you launch Windows Update you are likely to see an update called "Skype for Windows desktop 7.0."

So, if you don't want M$ capturing your images you may have to think twice when updating Windows.

I was also promoted to update Adobe Flash and you have to look carefully as it will automatically install anti-virus software unless you deselect it.

This shit of installing by default stuff you don't want is getting out of hand!!!

You're being so, unfair to Microsoft!

They gave everyone great warning about it. In the 375 Page, almost half a millimeter high fonted, software T.O.S. agreement. Which helpfully scrolled, at almost one line, every other minute. They also helpfully removed the scroll bars, to eliminate any chance of you missing a bit of it. It only takes 19.5 hours to read and/or scroll (speed limited) down it.
Being Microsoft, it does tend to crash after the first few hours. But they make no monetary charge (for the first retry, then $10), and let you start reading it from the top again.

It is absolutely quite ridiculous for people in this thread to be complaining. To change this policy, would wildly infringe on Microsofts and Bill Gates, right to their privacy (of all data they collect this way), retain joint copyright (remember, when you agreed to this, in the agreement), and would also terribly infringe on their human rights.

They will *ONLY* use the photographs, if they can make money from them, or cause you terrible embarrassment or other major issues.

They guarantee they will absolutely 100% NEVER, under any circumstances whatsoever be sent to the NSA (unless someone in your country is accused of committing a crime, within a 100 year, time-span).

Your rights are fully 100% honored by Microsoft (up to a maximum amount, no greater than, what you are paying for this service. N.B. Free = $0).

Does this prevent people from obtaining your IP address? If so it may be a security win if you're concerned with that sort of thing (DoS, etc).
