Skype alternatives

Any worthwhile competition to Skype out there? The Skype services look good but I'm just wondering who else I should be checking out. Thanks for any advice.

i found some references to this at broadband reports

voice stick dot com

w0w , i wonder why that is screened out

lol, this thread got buried quick. That voice stick looks interesting.

As far as skype being the alternative, I figured there had to be more than one, but maybe I'm wrong. Any more suggestions?

VOIP replacement. Nothing wrong with Skype it seems, but I'm just trying to evaluate what's available.

I used to use voipbuster before I landed with skype about 20 months ago. The quality wasn't as good as skype but the calls were often free. Looks like US calls are free now as well.

Are you wanting something to dial from Mexico to the US? I setup Vonage for my fiance in Colombia and we are loving it. Pretty much perfect. Now, if you are more on the go... Skype is good. Can't beat the clarity and ease of Vonage, though. Just keep a cordless hooked up to it, and with QoS on a decent router you are good to go. She has suck ass ETB, and it is like 128k U/D and it still works great.
