Skylake RAM DDR4

Hey all,

I'm about to buy some new RAM this morning, I was wondering if using all 4 dimms at 4x4 on a 6700k build would be a bad idea for overclocking...

I'm debating 4x4 @ 3000mhz vs 2x8 @2666mhz

I want to OC the crap out of my chip, and I will be gaming. Which would you guys get?

Let me know what you think guys.

Thanks!

I'd personally get the 2x8
I doubt you'll see much, if any, overclocking difference between the two but you'll leave 2 slots open later for an upgrade.
From an overclocking perspective 2666/2800 seem like the sweet spot to me.

2x8. There is no benefit at all to 4x4, unless you are maxing out capacity, and you might not be able to reach the same speeds or timings as with only 2 DIMMs (regardless of whether those gains translate into improved performance or not).
