Hello. There are chinese manufacturers using Skylake laptop CPUs in products made in 2019 - 2020. How is this possible? How can they sell products with these CPUs that are lower in price than the CPU's suggested price for 1000 units? Did they purchase these CPUs from Intel in 2019 - 2020 or did they come from broken machines? I don't think the CPUs are from broken machines due to the quantity sold and the relative rarity of the Skylake CPU in question. Thank you.

I think they buy used/broken laptops, salvage parts, make laptops from them and then sell them. We have seen this with desktop motherboards too such as x79, x58 etc, they are usually cheaper and the components are usually lower quality.

Intel sometimes will leave a couple models available with the intent of it being made available to embedded for a long time.

The 6300U and 6600U for instance, according to Ark had it's last shipment under "Intel Architecture" in December 2020. It's still available as "Embedded" but looks like the only real practical difference is that you don't get any discounts.
