So i'm building this sometime between now and say thanksgiving, Preordered the SSD, and I assume that will be what hold me up, but what is listed below is what I plan on doing. Pretty sure this all checks out, only thing im not sure about is that silly CPU cooler fitting in my case

1) used for everything, gaming, editing, general crap
2) 2k ish
3) us
4)
5) don't care
6) Reusing Case (Fractal Define R5), Power Supply (Corsair HX 850), HDDS (many), Monitors (LG34UM95, and a asus 24"), kb/mouse,...
7) yes
8) 3440*1440 main, 1920*1200 secondary
9) soonish
10) win 8.1, maybe 10

CPU: I7 6700K
Cooler: Noctua DH-D14/15 - Assuming it'll Fit, if not I need ideas
Mobo: Asus Z170 Gaming
Memory: 16GB (2x8) of prob 3000 speed ripjaws - never had an issue with their memory and its always priced well
Storage: Samsung SM950 Pro m.2 SSD - preordered
Video Card: 980Ti - I have no idea which one to get
Case - plan to reuse see above
PS - reuse see above

Why not go with liquid cooling for that price?

because i have zero interest in the effort it takes to make it work. nor will i be overclocking to the point where its needed

i know big air coolers, they work fine, they are better then all but the biggest AIO coolers and take up less space, they are also cheaper

This EVGA one was cheaper recently, about $600 after mail in rebate
EVGA on Newegg

I don't know if its like really good or anything, there are so many models that I'm confused looking at them.

What effort? The radiator+fan screw into a case fan mounting point, for your case likely the exhaust. You can screw a second fan to the opposite side of the radiator, or not. You install the back/frontplate on your mobo, and then seat the contact plate and tighten the screws.

what you just described is an AIO most cool no better then a high end air cooler, the highest end ones not only cost more but need to be run loud to cool better vs something like the DH15

true water cooling is better, but requires, pumps/rads/loops/... time and money Id rather not spend doing it for little to no benefit in the space I plan on operating in
