I saw a person die while skydiving so I pretty much will avoid it for the rest of my life.

I think I'm going to try to do it sometime this year at Carolina Sky Sports.
$175 for Weekday, $195 on Weekends.
Prices went up $15 in the last month or so... possibly because of gas prices? Or just because the weather is nicer. ;)

it's amazing. you'll feel "high" for a week afterwards

I've never been high but I have done a tandem jump. I wouldn't call it amazing. The free fall is really fun - a serious adrenaline rush, but it is over way to quick. After that you got a really long and boring return to earth as you are a passenger on a really slow glider. I yelled "are we there yet?" to the guy I was jumping with. I would love to do the free fall again but given that you can't do the free fall without the long boring part, I'll pass.

I did static line a long time ago. Went with 3 friends. I'd probably do it again if the opportunity ever came up but it's so damn expensive...

You pulled the cord too soon. Wait till you are about 200 feet above ground then pull.

I went a couple summers ago. Paid ~300 for the accelerated free fall training and a video of the whole thing. Jumped out of the plane with two instructors holding on to my sides. After falling for a minute or so, they let me go, I pulled the chute and floated to the ground myself.

I want to go again sometime, but I don't know if I'm willing to tempt fate a second time.

arent the odds greater that you will die commuting to work in the morning than sky diving?

I did a tandem jump years ago.

No more skydiving for me, it was just a bit too much fun:)

I've never been so sure for so long that I was going to die (during free fall)

And it was a good thing no children were around, because all I could do was blurt out 4 letter words after I landed:)

I'm scared of heights. Although that doesn't explain why climbing doesn't bother me. I guess I just have no desire to skydive :)

i'm very afraid of heights, but that will just make the rush better. I wanted to go this summer but i don't think my leg will be completely healed in time. I'm definately doing the accelerated freefall. I think if i went tandem with an instructor that was a professional it would lose some of the rush.
