Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow

By the trailers it looked to me like 95% of the movie was CGI. I don't know if I could handle that or not. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm just about CGI'd out. Otherwise it looks interesting. I'll have to see what the reviews and some of my friends say first.

yeah i want to go see it.

it looks like it would be a good movie to take my neice and nephew to

Everything is CGI. The only thing real in the movie are the actors. The whole movie was shot against bluescreen.

And yes, the movie looks freaking awesome.

I am hoping it's good. Definetely has a Buck Rogers / Metropolis look to it. I don't know about the PG thing though...do you know how awesome these fantasy sci-fi movies could be if they were R? I mean think of Star Wars being R rated! It would be the coolest movie ever.

After AvP I'm not too optimistic.

The only non-CG things in the movie are the people.

Everything except for those and basket props (even the carpets and walls and stuff are CG) are rendered.

Thats kinda the point, the guy who made it started a short like 10 years ago (when it took hours to render one segment of a leg of a robot) and made a little short . . . it caught some attention higher up and this is the result . . they just gave him a gigantic budget and told him to turn it into a movie.

I'm gonna see it.

Well in that case bleh! I'm really tired of CGI everything in action movies. What's the point anymore if all the actors have to do is act in front of a screen. That's not movie making, that's like making a video game. Kind of reminds me of all those lame FMV games of the mid 90's.

I don't care how they make it as long as I'm entertained.

CGI is just a tool to make movies easier. Watch this movie and you will realize why they chose to do it all in CGI.

I have seen some of the film and IMO the CGI is very well done. I would have been impossible to make this film in full live action.

Sounds cool.

I couldn't stand watching the preview, let alone the movie. The animation/live action combination really turned me off. Not to mention the fact that it looks extremely cheesey.

whats the deal with the eye patch on AJ's character?

everyone knows that people with 1 eye have problems with depth perception and it would be a danger to let her fly.
