Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

I've been trying to not get too enthusiastic about this flick because, as many others have stated, it looks like it could either be really great or have unlimited suck potential. Well... that said, I've read a couple of advance buzz report from folks who have seen the film, and they LOVE it. Links below. I officially can't wait to see this film - it looks like a lot of fun.

I saw this preview and thought to myself "wow, it looks pretty decent." It has a mixture of oldness and futureness.

All that went to hell when I heard the title of the Movie.

Titles do a lot. It will probably suck because the same people that came up with the most retarded title, comes up with the story.

I'd normally agree with the title thing (i.e. "The Phantom Menace"), but the title is a throwback to old serials, which always had sucky titles.

Hmm sounds good, I was a bit weary too because I wasn't sure if the actors chosen would fit. Angelina Jolie tends to make action movies cheesy (tomb raider anyone?)

I have seen about 15 minutes worth of this film. It looks pretty neat. They blended a lot of historical elements into the film and the look/feel of the CGI work is very good.

I read the title and I went omgwtfbbq. Then I saw the trailer and I went omgwtfbbqgrass. Then I saw Angelina Jolie. And then I realized she had only one eye. This movie is bound to nosedive.

I think the movie will rock. Such a high profile cast the script has to be half decent. Some of my favorite actors are involved.
