I have some experience with skunks. Here are your options:
1) Headshot: .22 is sufficient. If you hit the brain, the skunk won't spray. You can bait the skunk out at night with bacon.
2) Trap and drown: This is probably the best option. Rent or borrow a box trap like this one:
http://www.safeguardproducts.com/
Some city animal control departments will loan you one.
Bait it with bacon. Set it a night. Once the skunk is inside, wait til daylight, then walk up slowly and throw a blanket over the whole trap. The skunk won't spray. Then carry the whole thing to somewhere with water deep enough to cover the whole thing. This is the tricky part; you can't stand the trap on end (it'll open) so a trashcan is out. If you have a lake or pond close, you're all set. Otherwise, the bathtub might work. Check to make sure the trap fits before capturing the skunk!
3) Mothballs or bleach: You may be able to convince the skunk to voluntarily move if you put mothballs or bleach in his burrow.
Good luck.
I agree with most of it besides the drowning part, just throw the cage (gently) into the back of a truck with something to keep it from sliding around (and dislodging the blanket/cover/carboard box) and drive it to a wooded area over 5 miles away, pop the door and walk away holding the blanket....sit down and have a
Also, I found that a can of catfood works 60% of the time , every time

While at summer camp two years ago we had major problems with skunks running around. We put a bag of moth balls around our tents and the next morning they were gone. The following day we spotted a skunk actually eating the moth balls. Later when the game commission came the officer said that some skunks are actually attracted to them. In fact sometimes they place moth balls in the traps to catch them.
