Man, I know it's not my place to say how you guys spend your money, but you're paying through the nose ($2000 more) for a system that will be marginally faster than what you can buy using desktop components and that will be outdated in less than 9-12 months when nehalem comes out.

my systems become outdated when I stop using them and then I just pass them on to family. and as far as technology goes, everything becomes outdated... some quicker than others. If I was concerned on whether it becomes outdated in 9-12 months, I just might still be using that commodore 64 that I have packed in the closet with the external 5 1/4 floppy drive.
but in 9-12 months... i'll be buying the nehalem when it comes out too 😀

Sorry for never replying I didn't even know this thread lives still-- Wondering what the REAL ETA on this board is still.

My friend couldn't lock one down. Apparently even quality control engineers don't know what it is 😉
