I am considering building a system with the MSI K8N Neo2 nF3 board, an Athlon 64 3000+ (Winchester 90nm), Pine 6600GT AGP, 2x512 OCZ Platinum Rev2 DDR400, WD Raptor 74GB SATA drive, and LG L1710BK monitor. Does anyone see any problem with this config?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

There's nothing wrong with that system. It looks pretty good actually ;)

The only thing you should know is that a PCI-E 6600GT is about $40-50 cheaper right now, and it's more future proof. For that you will have to wait for the K8T890 and nForce4 motherboards, which should be here in a few weeks.

Yeah I would agree to wait on the NForce 4 boards. Then you have PCI-e, DDR2 memory, and SATA II.

How would you expect pricing of the AGP 6600GT and the nf3 boards to change with the release of the nf4 boards? Is it worth waiting to get a cheaper price maybe? I'm not ready to jump on board with nf4/PCI-e yet. It's just too soon.

I think prices will go down a little (specially on the 6600GT AGP, which was only released this week). If you're willing to wait you may also want to see other people's experience with the new chipsets. I understand people don't want to jump on new things, but it's not like the nForce3 Ultra is a rock-solid chipset.
