Well after a mere 6.5 months of unemployment I finally got a job offer today. It pays significantly more than I was making last year and its a great consulting position with a good company. Unfortunately I have to move 1700 miles away from my wife and it is in the US, but she'll be moving down next year when done nursing.

Congrats! Too bad you have to leave us Canadians but I'm sure you'll be back to visit lots. :)

It'll be tough for you and the wifey, but hey, it's better than unemployment. ;)

Congratz! I had the same problem last year for 4 months. 6.5 has to hurt! What do you do for them?

Congrats :)

Too bad about the wife thing... oh well, with the mega-bucks you'll be earning now you can afford many, many airline tickets :)

Its a consulting/development position. I go onsight with a client generally for long periods of time and support my head company's product enhancing and modifying as well as maintaining. Its a combination of ASP, VB, SQL server with Crystal reports and some other things thrown in for good measure like people soft.

I can actually say without a doubt that my MCSD that I got over the last 4 months was a contributing factor to employment. That and the fact a guy I know spoke so highly of me its insane. I owe him a lot of beer.

Sounds interesting, and challenging. Will you be moving all over the US, or in one particular place?
