Ok, the part of the door that is outlined in yellow came off the door for whatever reason. It came off the driver side door, I'm just showing it on the passenger side since I dont have a picture of the driver side.

But anyway, it came half way off, so I finished taking it off.

It has the "gooey black tape sticky strips" what ever the stuff is that holds these things on there.

Of course, I cannot reuse what was there, so had to clean it all off. Now what exactly is that stuff ? And would something like the GM garage be the only place to get it ?

Double-sided tape (3M brand, the red one...) Can be bought at Home Depot.

Make sure surfaces are clean before applying.

I have actually used that double sided tape before. That identical product.

I used it to put plexi in a computer case side panel. Worked like a charm.

However, this piece for the car door maybe weighs 2-3 lbs. Would it hold it ? And would it be good enough to be weather proof ?

I used that tape to adhere my driver and passenger side window visors and it lasted 5 years. That stuff sticks.

The 3M stuff I linked is outdoor stuff. The only stuff that's much better is 3M's VHB line, and you'd have trouble finding that, I think. Very High Bonding.
