they wont let you skp intros anymore, It's called advertising. But i'm pretty sure you can still fast forward them

Rip them to your hard drive / DVDR FTW.

My #1 argument for doing that. I bought the movie, and I'll be damned if I'm supposed to sit through commercials every time I want to watch it.

Rage187 - Sometimes even that doesn't work. :(

I thought VideoLan Client ignored the no-skip flag but I could be wrong. Personally I prefer Media Player Classic, I'm not sure if that will work or not. What about the scene selector? Jump to scene #1?

Rip DVD, then use DVD ReMake Pro to remove unwanted stuff.

IOW, w/o a lot of work, there's no simple way...

Actually wait...if you just want to skip the menus too, just play teh first .vob, or rip the DVD & remove teh menus & everything...

PowerDVD and WinDVD both allow you to set bookmarks per DVD Video. Somehow it remembers them across several disks (must keep a file somewhere).

I just use Shrink to take out everything, except for the movie. You put in the disc, and the movie just starts. Its a real time saver. Time from putting the movie in, till it plays? 10 seconds or so.

Disney is HORRIBLE about putting crap in that you cannot skip, or fast forward thru. They have tons of adds. Even hitting the menu (which the DVD player in my van doesnt have) doesnt help much. So stripping just the movie for the kids movies is what I do.

How much time, though, did you take shrinking the DVD and burning it again? Bookmarking is a lot faster.

Or buy AnyDVD which does all that in the background. It also strips copy protection for both DVDs and audio CDs.

AnyDVD is well worth the price. I love having that prog on my HTPC. Being able to skip back and forth in the trailers/adverts or skip them entirely by pressing menu is worth it. Although, it only works for computers. Best bet for STB dvd players is research and buying one that ignores all the flags and so on and lets you skip, like my parents Apex AD1100w.

That was one of the main reasons I picked up DVD X-Copy Platinum a few years ago. When ever I get a new DVD, I rip it then burn it back to a single layer DVD-R. The factory DVD goes back in the case and I never touch it again (unless something happens to my copy!). When ever I want to watch the movie, in goes the copy and the movie starts right up. None of that ad crap and stupid menu system with lots of junk I have no desire to watch anyway.
