Skipping startup menu in Win98SE?

I had some problems so I used the safe mode to start (F8 to startup menu). Now that I have solved it. the OS works fine but I still get the startup menu each time it starts (w/o pressing F8). It's just a small thing but it's annoying. I've looked for a switch somewhere to turn it off but so far have not found one. Does anybody know how to turn it off?

I think thats a sign that your comp is not shutting down correctly, does your comp power down the right way or do you have to shut it down? If everything is alright, then sorry I have never seens such a problem.

I think that you have a boot.ini file in your directory. You can change the start option there. I know that NT and 2K have this file, but not for sure about 98SE. I also know that in msconfig, there is an option to change this also.

Thanks a lot! I had forgotten about msconfig. There is no boot.ini at least in my version of 98 but msconfig solved it.
