Skipping sounds in Vista

Hey,

so I have this very annoying problem. Whenever my CPU usage starts getting higher, like when I launch a program or even if I just have a very long web page and I scroll up and down very fast, my music starts skipping.
I've got Vista Ultimate, Asus P5B Deluxe as motherboard, X-Fi Platinium, eVGA 8800 GTS and 2 gigs of RAM. So this problem doesnt exist while I'm using XP (I got dual boot).
I have the newest WHQL drivers from nvidia for my gfx card, newest BIOS, newest sound card drivers from creative and newest Intel Storage Matrix RAID-drivers from Intel.

I've tried re-installing the drivers back and forth, doing clean installs etc, and I've been googling around for a very long time without any success. Some of the very few posts I've found regarding the same issue have advised to checking "Disable all Enhancements" from Control Panel -> Sound -> Speakers, but I cant seem to find this box.
I'm really getting desperate here without a clue of where the problem might be. Any and every idea about fixing this will be greatly appreciated.

i get the same thing even if one core is completely free of anything... some of my compiling from engineering apps use 100% of core1 and my music starts skipping 🙁 where core2 is 0% used.

Maybe it is an X-Fi thing.

Another problem i have is when my monitor turns off, when i move the mouse to turn it back on music skips for a second.

I never get the problem surfing web pages though... so mine isn't as bad as yours but it is just an annoyance of new OS i am sure..

Anyone know the best ways to submit these type of little bugs to MS?

One thing I forgot to mention is that a friend of mine has exactly the same setup except for the graphics card, he's got a 7800 GT. Other than that, we have the same components with the same drivers and even the same settings. And everything works flawlessly for him. It really doesnt make a whole lot of sense tho that the graphics card drivers could cause this, now would it?
