Skipping "intro" in OSX

Same as most any Mac application.... Command-Q to tell the application to quit. Or Command-Option-Escape to force the application to quit.

I'm not exactly sure what these keys are on a generic USB keyboard... Macs have 3 meta keys: control, command/apple, and option/alt. Maybe "command" maps to the Windows key?

Yeah, command-Q will let you skip when it asks for your information.

As for the key mappings, IIRC, my regular keyboard at work had the command key map to the windows key, but on my MX Duo keyboard I have here at home, alt is the command key and the windows key is "alt-option"

Weird...
